About
Piedmont Filter Co. is run by Zach Towers, in Charlotte.
Not a national subscription box with a Charlotte landing page. A local business, with a real name and a real phone number on every page.
Who is behind this
Zach Towers
Founder, Piedmont Filter Co. LLC
Zach was born and raised around Charlotte and spent more than ten years in construction — long enough to watch a spring pollen season coat a job site, and to learn what a filter does and does not catch.
I have had a lot of addresses. We moved constantly when I was growing up, and more than ten years in construction kept me on the road for a good share of my adult life, so I do not take having a home for granted. A home is the one environment you actually get to control, and the filter in your hallway is one of the smallest and most overlooked levers you have on it. Your house should be the one place all of that pollen and dust isn't. Stack up enough small things like that and you end up somewhere that is genuinely good to be.

Why this exists here
Filters are the cheapest, easiest maintenance in a house, and almost nobody does them on time. Not out of negligence — because the filter is behind a grille in a hallway ceiling, the size is a number you have to go look up every time, and there is no moment in an ordinary week that prompts you to think about it.
A national subscription solves the remembering. It does not solve the second half of the problem, which is that the right interval is not the same everywhere. The default 90 days is built for an average climate. Charlotte runs a cooling season that keeps air handlers cycling for months, has two separate pollen seasons rather than one, and is building fast enough that construction dust is a real input in a lot of neighborhoods. The schedule should reflect that, and it can only reflect that if whoever set it lives here.
So the guides on this site are the actual product as much as the filters are. They are written for this place, they cite sources you can go check yourself, and they say plainly when a filter is not the answer — a media filter does nothing about ozone, and on a bad ozone day in July that is worth knowing.
What this site will not do
- No health claims. A filter captures airborne particles. That is the entire claim, and it is the only one that will appear here. Nothing on this site will tell you a filter prevents, treats, or reduces any condition.
- No invented numbers. If a figure is not sourced, it is not printed. Where a number would strengthen a sentence, the sentence is written to work without it until someone can attribute it.
- No fake social proof. No reviews, no testimonials, no customer count, no 'trusted by X homes'. The business is pre-launch. There is nothing to count yet, and inventing one would be a lie.
- No dark patterns. No popups, no exit-intent modals, no countdown timers, no retention flow. Cancelling is an email.
